Today the world commemorates World AIDS day in honour of those who live with HIV/AIDS and those that have died from it; and it further raises awareness about the disease.
In 2014 alone, it is estimated that 1.2 million people died from AIDS and that at least 36.9 million people worldwide are infected with HIV. In South Africa, there’s over 6.3 million people living with HIV/AIDS with at least 340 000 new infections every year and 200 000 AIDS related deaths.
So seeing that this is an epidemic, try teaching your kids about HIV/AIDS in a positive way with our new instalment onto the App -“Sibo Thinks Positively” or read the book here. This could help reduce infections because prevention is always better than cure. And this also ties in with the world’s theme of ‘Getting to Zero’.
